PPE delivered to two hospitals in Bujumbura, Burundi

The AO Alliance is heedful about the health and safety of the healthcare workers in its network, and when the coronavirus pandemic hit, the AO Alliance sought solutions to reduce the risk of infection for frontline healthcare workers.
The AO Alliance Board of Directors and Management decided to allocate funding to countries in which the AO Alliance is active to supply healthcare workers in its network with personal protective equipment (PPE). On September 28, 2020, Dr Jean Claude Niyondiko, AO Alliance Burundi representative, accompanied by other AO Alliance Burundi faculty, delivered a donation of 260 bottles of hand sanitizer gel and 300 reusable cloth masks to two hospitals in Bujumbura.
Prof. Evarsite Ndabaneeze and Dr Sylvain Pierre Nzeyimana, both in charge of care in these hospitals, expressed their gratitude for the donation which arrived at a crucial time and will help healthcare workers to continue caring for patients with greater safety
