November 5, 2018. Experts from around the world convened in Bangkok, Thailand for the Safety 2018 World Conference to share knowledge and address the rising rates of injuries worldwide. Sesame Workshop Bangladesh was among the exhibitors, represented by Gopal Kumar Dey and Nasrin Akter.
At the Sesame exhibition corner, Dey presented the poster: Play Safe Be Safe: A Sesame Workshop Intervention in Bangladesh to visitors, guiding them through the activities to educate children and caregivers about safety and injury prevention.
“Injury prevention interventions are big in many countries, which we did not know before. Sesame is uniquely positioned to enhance the interventions with great content,” said Dey. In fact, he continues, many people were unaware that Sesame produces such content with the support of the AO Foundation.
The revelation that Play Safe with Sisimpur content has been distributed to 1,800 Anchal centers was met with much support from Lifeboat UK and Lifeboat Australia. Play Safe with Sisimpur, the Bangladeshi version of Sesame Street, is part of Sesame Workshop’s educational programs on injury prevention.
